Local Students
JUPAS Local Admission
The minimum requirements for admission to the Programme are:
- Applicant shall have obtained in one sitting of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) grade E or above in at least seven subjects including two language subjects (Chinese Language, English Language, French or German), Mathematics and Biology / Human Biology; AND
- Applicant shall have obtained in one or more sittings of Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) grade E or above in:
- Advanced Supplementary Level Chinese Language & Culture;
- Advanced Supplementary Level Use of English; AND
- At least two Advanced Level subjects, or one Advanced Level and two Advanced Supplementary Level subjects.
Early Admission Scheme
For 2010 entry,
- local secondary six school students on the basis of 2009 HKCEE only
- General and Language Subjects Requirements
- Grade A in 4 subjects and Level 5* in both Chinese and English in HKCEE; or
- Grade A in 5 subjects and Level 5* in Chinese, and Level 4 or above in English in HKCEE; or
- Gade A in 5 subjects and Level 5* in English, and Level 4 or above in Chinese in HKCEE; or
- Grade A in 6 subjects and Level 4 or above in both Chinese and English in HKCEE,
where the requirement of Chinese can be replaced by Grade C or above in French or Putonghua in HKCEE, as appropriate.
- Completion of secondary six with satisfactory result

International Students
If you require a student visa to study in Hong Kong, you can apply for full-time undergraduate studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong through "International Students Admission Scheme". Those who have the right of abode in Hong Kong or the right to land in Hong Kong (i.e. those who do not require a student visa to study in Hong Kong) are required to apply via the “Non-JUPAS (Local) Scheme”. Applicants shall be eligible to apply if they:
- Possess a qualification obtained outside Hong Kong which qualifies them for university admission in the country/region where such qualification is obtained* (e.g. SAT in USA, UEC / STPM in Malaysia, HSC / TER in Australia, OSSD in Canada, etc.); OR
- Have acquired an International Baccalaureate Diploma; OR
Have obtained in one sitting of the GCE Advanced Level Examination pass grades in no less than three Advanced Level subjects (Applicants with pass grades in 2 Advanced Level and 2 Advanced Subsidiary Level subjects may also apply); OR
- Have successfully completed:
• at least one year of full-time undergraduate study at a recognized university; OR
• a course of study leading to the qualification of an associate degree / higher diploma; OR
- Have other exceptional achievements which merit admission.
- In addition, applicants should have attained an acceptable level of proficiency in English.

* Mainland students, who are current Gao Kao candidates「应届高考生」, should apply through the National Colleges and Universities Enrolment System「全国普通高校统一招生计划」 (please refer to Recruitment of Mainland Students website for details). Mainland students who hold overseas qualifications should apply through this Scheme.
